Sesame Potatoes
Ingredients
1/3 cup sesame seeds
1-1/2 to 2 lb (675 to 900 g) small round potatoes, scrubbed
1-1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp each: black bean sauce, sesame oil
2 dashes hot sauce
Salt to taste
Directions
In medium pan over medium heat, toast sesame seeds just until they begin to change colour, about 2 minutes. Set aside.
In large pot of salted water over high heat, bring potatoes to boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and allow to dry in colander 5 minutes.
In small bowl, stir together hoisin, black bean sauce, sesame oil and hot sauce.
Put potatoes in large bowl. Pour hoisin mixture over top and stir gently to coat.
Sprinkle on sesame seeds and stir gently to coat. Sprinkle with salt.
Makes 6 servings.
